Orbitless wins Vancouver stop of the Canadian Export Challenge Pitch Competition and moves onto National Competition

Vancouver, BC – October 2, 2018 | This afternoon, Orbitless was named the winner of the Vancouver Canadian Export Challenge Pitch Competition. Entrepreneur Robert Eisses won $1,000 and a trip to Ottawa to pitch for the grand prize at Startup Canada Day on the Hill to CBC NextGen Dragon Nicole Verkindt and former Dragon, Brett Wilson, for the grand prize of $10,000 in the capital and up to $100,000 in resources and support.

Vancouver-based Orbitless is the first novel drivetrain technology that can be used in a variety of applications from Motion Control, Robots, Electric vehicles, Wind Power, and anywhere gear motors are used.

“I can invision Orbitless changing the way technology develops around motors in the 21st century. It’s exciting to see this innovative approach to an age-old device, one that become a global game-changer and disrupter,” said Victoria Lennox, CEO, and Co-founder of Startup Canada. “I’m thrilled that Robert will represent British Columbia at the final pitch competition in Ottawa this October.”

Throughout the day, entrepreneurs had the opportunity to hear from leading global entrepreneurs, including Manny Padda, Co-Founder and Partner at New Avenue Capital, Devon Brooks, Founder and CEO of Sphere, and Shafin Diamond, Co-Founder and CEO of Victory Square.  Entrepreneurs also met with organizations to help them to scale to global markets, including UPS Canada®, Export Development Canada (EDC), Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), Trade Commissioner Service, Brainstation, Volition, Spring, Innovate BC and Women’s Enterprise Center.

Presented by Startup Canada in partnership with UPS Canada®, Export Development Canada, and the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service, the Canadian Export Challenge in Toronto showcased and supported more than 250 borderless businesses to go global.
