Startup Canada CEO, Kayla Isabelle, wins Report on Business magazine’s 2023 Changemakers award from The Globe and Mail

OTTAWA, ON – February 24, 2023 | Startup Canada is pleased to announce that CEO, Kayla Isabelle, has been named a 2023 Report on Business magazine Changemaker.

Changemakers is an editorial award program produced by Report on Business magazine at The Globe and Mail. This program celebrates emerging business leaders who are making a difference in their industry with their ideas, accomplishments, and impact.

As CEO of Startup Canada, Kayla has dedicated her career to supporting entrepreneurs and is passionate about leveraging the power of storytelling in the business community, particularly for women entrepreneurs, as the host of the Startup Women Podcast. Kayla is also the Founding Executive Director of the Innovators and Entrepreneurs Foundation, Board Member at the Ottawa Board of Trade, Past-President of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Ottawa Chapter, and Board Member at StartUP Sault Ste. Marie.

The Globe and Mail solicited nominations for the Changemakers award in the fall of 2022. Winners were selected by The Globe and Mail’s award-winning editorial team for their bold notions and leadership, as determined by their nominations, subsequent interviews, and reference checks. Kayla is one of 50 winners of the Changemakers award.

“As the world grapples with new challenges from greening the economy to adjusting to the new geopolitical reality, the Canadian business community needs new ideas and bold leaders,” says Dawn Calleja, editor of Report on Business magazine. “The Changemakers program aims to highlight 50 people who are taking on pressing issues and turning ideas into impact.”
