How We Can Include Senior Entrepreneurs with John Hamblin – December 4 2018

Episode Overview

Entrepreneurship has no expiry date. It’s a world where all ideas are welcome and the experiences and knowledge of each individual should be grasped, grown, and gathered to make strong, diverse teams. Atlantic Canada-based John Hamblin knows we must embrace and support the aging population and the rise of senior entrepreneurship to better society and grow our economy. Like himself, John knows there is an army of senior minds that are ready to put their energy, excellence and expertise to use and have no plans of slowing down. In 2014 John founded Startup Canada’s Halifax Community as part of the Startup Canada organization. In recognition of his efforts to support and grow the startup community, John was awarded the 2015 Atlantic Canada Senior Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Recently, John founded a Halifax chapter of Aging2.0, a Silicon Valley based organization geared to the application of technology to assist seniors. In this week’s #StartupPodcast, host Rivers Corbett talks to John about creating the best possible startup ecosystem in the Atlantic and in Canada, and that is one that includes seniors.
