Newfoundland Chocolate Company
Christina Dove
The Newfoundland Chocolate Company is a family artisan business established in 2008 in Christina’s home. They specialize in high-quality, small-batch luxury chocolates with a distinctive Newfoundland twist. Our recipes often feature local ingredients such as wild blueberries, partridge berries, currants, bakeapples, and Labrador tea, with sea salt harvested from the North Atlantic. Because of Christina’s background in neuroscience, they create decadent chocolates and gelato taking extra steps to ensure it is natural ingredients with no dyes or artificial preservatives. Even their packaging reflects Newfoundland culture, humor, and storytelling, making every product a celebration of local heritage, culture and traditions.
They are an equal opportunity employer and our team of sometimes more than one hundred staff. They’re a multicultural, multigenerational and neurodiverse team with Christina always working hard to make their factory as inclusive as possible. Each team member plays a role in creating chocolates that blend craftsmanship, stories, flavor, and tradition.
Customers enjoy more than gourmet confections – they experience chocolate in memorable ways. From personalized service in their retail stores to artisan chocolate-making classes or community events with award-winning chocolatiers, they aim to inspire delight and connection.
They are also committed to sustainability and ethical sourcing. They are a member of Cocoa Horizons supporting farmers and their families who uphold fair trade practices, healthy environmental practices and fair labor standards, ensuring their products are both delicious and responsibly made.
