Calgary, AB – September 28th, 2023 | Today Startup Canada announced the winner of the Calgary “Pop-up” Pitch Competition, the regional qualifier for the 2023 Startup Global Pitch Competition Grand Finale. Pitching in front of the packed in-person audience of Startup Canada Tour’s most recent stop in Calgary, startup Rinvio Technologies Inc. was named the first place winner – taking home $3,000 cash and a guaranteed slot in the Grand Finale. 

Pitching for Rinvio was Mohamad Abdel Rida, Rinvio’s Co-Founder and CTO. Rinvio is a disruptive software startup reimagining the Canadian trucking industry. Through real-time insights including driver behaviour and much more, the innovative team is revolutionizing how safety, compliance, reporting and cost-effective operations are managed across the sector.

On October 26th, Abdel Rida will compete live against the 9 other finalists from across Canada for a $70,000 cash prize pool. The Grand Finale of the 2023 Pitch Competition will be held during the final stop of Startup Canada Tour in Brampton, Ontario. Startup Canada is also currently hosting online voting for the People’s Choice Award, an opportunity to vote for your favourite participating business. Voting ends on Tuesday, October 24; the winner of the People’s Choice Award will receive $2,500.
