Located within Treaty Territories 1, 3 and 5, Eastman communities are built upon the Canadian Shield and the Red River plains, a highly desirable region for touristic activity. START UP Eastman will serve entrepreneurs who want to support an equitable, sustainable an accessible tourism experience across our land. Let us discover how we can all work together, to protect our resources and remove barriers for our underserved community members who have great skills and abilities to thrive as entrepreneurs. Tawnshi! I belong to the Red River Métis Nation and celebrate our entrepreneurial roots here in Manitoba. By creating mobile programs, we make it possible for families to stay in their own communities for services. I recognize the power tourism can have economically for small rural towns. We began offering land based opportunities to showcase our region and its businesses. My passion and lived experience across the prairies, motivates me build relationships with business owners, government and organizations to see how we can all work together, to rise above the barriers we face in rural Manitoba. I recognize that now is the perfect time, to motivate, empower, and build capacity for enhancing a visitor experience and to create new revenue streams for our businesses and empower new business owners to full-fill their dreams.
