On December 4th, Startup Canada President and Co-Founder, Victoria Lennox, received a 2019 “Women Who Work” Award from the Embassy of Gabon at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, ON. “I am proud to receive this award on behalf of all of the women entrepreneurs who break new ground across Canada every day. Recognitions like this inspire even greater effort to advance entrepreneurship.”

About the Award
The Government of Gabon, as part of a commitment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, launched “The Decade of Women” in 2015; an initiative to empower women and better the living conditions of women in Gabon, and to encourage international cooperation and solidarity with other countries, women’s organizations, and women globally..
Last year, the Embassy of Gabon launched the Women Who Work Initiative to celebrate the achievements of inspiring women who defy the conventional by occupying the positions they deserve. This initiative also allowed the Embassy to officially launch the Education Fund for Orphans in Gabon which will give thousands of orphans access to education.
