Facilitated by serial entrepreneur and speaker, Rivers Corbett
During the Cape Breton University Town Hall, we will discuss how we can create spaces and places for entrepreneurship to flourish, discussing how we can move from incubation to acceleration and create, enrich or increase awareness of hubs and spaces for entrepreneurs in our community.
Making the connection between entrepreneurialism and post secondary education, we want to investigate how colleges and universities become more entrepreneurial not only in what they teach and how they teach it, but in how they operate. How can we better commercialize university and college innovations?
The event will wrap with a discussion on our need to build on strength to build clusters (i.e. an industry, a company, a person, a network, a policy, a program, and an organization). We will discuss the key assets and strengths of our community and hope to identify how can we work together to develop and /or strengthen a local cluster.
This event will focus on three main themes and will provide an opportunity to express ideas that will forward the entrepreneurial revolution in Cape Breton. This is a call to action, a collective and strategic approach to economic prosperity.
Join us as we create momentum for an entrepreneurial movement.
