Dr. Mario Thomas is an accomplished senior executive with impressive international credentials in the commercialization of innovation. With over 30 years in leadership roles directing corporate development, he creates remarkable value for all stakeholders.

Mario Thomas brings extensive experience filled with achievements driving successful development collaborations and financial ventures. Dr. Thomas was promoted to Senior Vice-President, Ontario Centres of Excellence in June 2010. Before being appointed Managing Director of the Centre for Commercialization of Research at the Ontario Centres of Excellence in April 2009, Dr. Thomas was Partner in the venture firm T2C2 Capital. His previous experiences include CEO and co-founders of 2 start-up companies; senior level positions in business development, marketing and scientist.

He holds a PhD in chemistry and a BSc from Université Laval in Quebec City, as well as a diploma in business administration from École des Hautes Études Commerciales of Université de Montréal. He is also a Chartered Director with a diploma in board governance. Dr. Thomas brings an in-depth background in board level functions both as a board member and in managing board relations as an executive.
