
Since 2008, Lorena Forster has worked with TEC Edmonton as the Manager, Strategic Partnerships. She works with provincial and federal partners and collaborators to enhance TEC’s service offerings to new start up and early stage companies, inventors and entrepreneurs (our clients) in Alberta. TEC Edmonton helps our clients to create and accelerate the growth of advanced technology businesses. Lorena’s prior experience includes nine years with the Alberta Research Council (now Alberta Innovates Technology Futures). Through her positions as account manager with the Technology Commercialization Office and Technology Transfer Team Lead with the Heavy Oil & Oil Sands Business Unit, she assisted researchers to develop intellectual property protection strategies and technology development & pilot programs for specific oil & gas technologies.
Lorena is a graduate of the University of Alberta, with a BA Honors degree in French translation and a MBA specializing in technology transfer. She is currently a board member of the Alberta Clean Technology Industry Association has been the past co-chair of the Edmonton Chapter of the Licensing Executive Society.
