Communication Associate, Mi'kmaq Confederacy

Judy Clark is a Communication Associate for the Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI.  She has held other positions within MCPEI such as: Community Researcher, Land Use Researcher and Abegweit Community Liaison as well as a Contributing Editor to the Abegweit Epekwitk and KWIMU. She held a position as Mi’kmaq Interpreter for a joint project with MCPEI and Parks Canada in 2011.She has a Certificate in Community Diversity and Inclusion Issues and in Aboriginal Finance, Aboriginal Business Law and Taxation.  Judy received a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from UPEI and is a Circle Keeper for the MCPEI Aboriginal Justice Program.  Judy is a Band member of the Abegweit First Nation and follows the traditional way of life.  She has been a volunteer with: Girls Guides of Canada for over 27 years and sits on the Commissioner’s National Aboriginal Advisory Committee with the RCMP and is President of the Aboriginal Women’s Association of PEI. She is married to John and has two daughters Shannon and Cheryl as well as two son-laws Keith and Derek, and is now a proud grandmother of Irelyn, Avery and Declan.
