Joan is the executive director of the PEI Business Women’s Association, a member driven association striving to empower and inspire women to succeed in their business endeavors by providing business counselling, business skill development and networking opportunities.

Prior to this, Joan mentored and met many future leaders as she coordinated several programs involving students at the UPEI School of Business.

Upon graduation from UPEI with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Joan joined the Royal Bank of Canada where her management career within the Maritime Provinces allowed her to experience a range of positions including commercial account management, human resources, financial planning and manager of four branches.

Joan is an active member of Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty. She enjoys creating art mainly in acrylics, and also likes to preserve family pictures and stories in either movie or book format.
