
Irenia is perhaps best known for her enthusiasm and versatility. As a member of the Business New Brunswick Economic Development team Irenia has been working on Trade & Innovation Development initiatives for the past six years. Irenia has contributed to numerous Regional, National and International initiatives including coordinating, developing and implementing strategies to drive Economic success working alongside government, industry, Non-governmental organizations and academic partners.
Irenia's innovative style, spirit and 'no excuses' attitude helps propel entrepreneurs to accelerate sales and reach new export markets. She has lead successful trade missions to the Dominican Republic, Chicago, Boston, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco. She thoroughly enjoys working with multifunctional teams to solve different challenges.
Irenia is passionate about Corporate and Social Innovation. Recognized as a business innovator & motivator, Irenia volunteers as a Business Advisor for the Wallace McCain Institute “Entrepreneurs Forum” working with pure start-ups. She is also involved with the New Brunswick Filmmakers Cooperative and the St. Thomas University Career Mentor Team. Her entrepreneurial spirit and eclectic interests have lead to her engaging her community and peers including participating in the 2012 Fredericton 48 hour film competition, being part of the Femme Bots team. As part of an MBA class, Irenia took part in the 2009 New Brunswick Innovation Foundation (NBIF) Business Plan Competition where she brought her business background to the Smart Skin Technologies team with the team winning four awards including Best Young Entrepreneur Award, Best Presentation Award, Best University Venture Award and CBC People's Choice award which gave the team opportunity to pitch to CBC’s Dragon Den Venture Capitalists. In her spare time, Irenia enjoys playing ultimate Frisbee.
Irenia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from St. Thomas University and a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from the University of New Brunswick. She is fluent in English, Creole and has intermediate French. She is an active member of the Civil Service Toastmasters.
