Dan initially joined VIATeC in 2000. Prior to taking on the role of Executive Director he managed VIATeC's marketing, communications, event management, policy and member relations. Since that time, he has been a part of creating many of VIATeC's most successful events and services including the VIATeC Awards, the VIATeC 25, Island Tech, Peer Round Tables and this online platform for VIATeC members.   Dan's diverse background includes a mix of communications, computers and politics. He has owned and operated a publishing company, a computer consulting company, worked as a newspaper editor and served as an on-air radio correspondent for the CBC.  He also serves as Chair and CEO of the British Columbia Regional Science & Technology Network, a society whose members work within their regions to enhance the application of science and technology to aid the growth and development of innovative businesses in regional BC.
