Amelia Layne is enrolled in her second year of her Bachelor of Commerce degree at Dalhousie University, majoring in Marketing. She is currently completing her first Co-op work term and will be fulfilling the Project Coordinator position at Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Network until the end of April.

Amelia was born and raised in Barbados. She has been in Halifax now for three years and it has become her home away from home. She hopes to continue to learn, grow and network and really make the best of her fantastic opportunity to study and work abroad.

Over her summer vacation, Amelia raised money by selling her own artwork. With the funds she raised, she traveled to Brazil where she built houses for underprivileged families through the well-known organisation Habitat for Humanity. Her artwork has remained successful to this day and Amelia hopes to continue to grow her small business as she learns more about entrepreneurship.
