#StartupGOV – Advancing Digital Adoption Amongst Women Small Business Owners

On May 15, Startup Canada will announce the findings of Part 2 in a 4-Part National Research Series to provide insights and advance the conversation on digital entrepreneurship in Canada. This report, Advancing Digital Adoption Amongst Women Entrepreneurs in Canada, will build upon a Startup Canada report released in February 2017 that found that women entrepreneurs are 20 per cent less likely to adopt digital technologies than male entrepreneurs. This report will look at how women entrepreneurs use technology to start, operate and scale their businesses, uncover key barriers and challenges to adopting digital technology amongst women entrepreneurs, and will highlight opportunities to increase digital adoption rates amongst women-owned businesses in Canada.
By attending you will:

  • Hear a TED-style talk from the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development on the importance of advancing digital adoption amongst women entrepreneurs, and what the government is doing to support the success of women-owned businesses in Canada
  • Hear from a panel of leading women business owners and industry executives about challenges and opportunities for women entrepreneurs in the digital space.
  • Learn about national and global best practices supporting the development of digital adoption amongst women entrepreneurs.
  • Learn insights and solutions to improve digital adoption amongst women entrepreneurs in Canada
