Adam continues to inspire with his legacy. Startup Canada, its staff, board, and volunteers are dedicated to celebrating his work and driving it toward greater heights.

Adam was a one-of-a-kind visionary, entrepreneur, and trailblazer who inspired and influenced the lives of those around him. Recognized for his leadership, business excellence and innovation, Adam was a leading champion of entrepreneurship and high-growth export companies. Adam became the founding Chairman of Startup Canada in May 2012, and joined founders Victoria Lennox and Cyprian Szalankiewicz on a national tour to 40 Canadian cities to meet and interview 20,000 entrepreneurs for the largest consultation of entrepreneurs in Canadian history. As Chair of the Board, Adam shared his vision and commitment to advancing the culture of entrepreneurship, fostering the next generation of high-growth companies, and creating new wealth and prosperity for the Canadian economy. He served as Chairman until his passing in February 2015.

As Chair of the Board, Adam influenced Startup Canada’s core programs, team, and values. He led by example as an active ambassador of entrepreneurship to government, media, and industry. He believed fiercely in going global, the value of mentorship, and the fundamental importance of culture. He invested in the next generation of companies, and among other involvement was active as the Chair of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Development ICT Panel and sat on the Board of Directors for Export¬†Development Canada.
