This week we want to put the spotlight on one of Startup Canada’s most exciting Community Partners: WEtech Alliance. Since launch of the Startup Canada Campaign, the Windsor Essex Technology Alliance has been running at full steam, getting their local community of entrepreneurs and emerging tech start-ups excited about the Startup Canada Movement – and we can’t thank them enough.

So what is the Windsor Essex Technology Alliance? In short, they’re a local industry-led organization that is driving the growth and success of Windsor Essex’s tech-centric companies and entrepreneurs through leadership, connections, and promotion. They help local entrepreneurs launch new ventures, provide education and networking to accelerate business growth, and advocate for their region’s thriving tech, life science, and advanced manufacturing companies.

So what has WEtech been doing to support the Startup Canada Movement that we believe earns them legendary status as an early adopter and leading community partner? Let’s explore!

  1. WEtech and its team members have shown great support for the Startup Canada Movement by helping to Spread the Word far and wide through deft use of the online graphics pack http://www.startupcan.ca/get-involved/spread-the-word/ on their twitter backgrounds and team member profiles.
  2. WEtech Alliance has also launched a Startup Canada community photo campaign, and is bringing the Startup Canada brand to local community events, snapping some great pictures that showcase their community’s growing support for the Movement, and featuring these photos online through their Facebook and Twitter galleries
  3. WEtech is also making full use of social media platforms to engage their community in an ongoing dialogue about the Startup Canada Launch Campaign and Cross Canada Tour, by keeping their community up to date on all of Startup Canada’s latest developments and news, by re-Tweeting all our key messages, and they have even launched a online Fluid Survey, to find out what their community would like to see what Startup Canada comes to Windsor-Essex.
  4. One of our absolute favourites, is WEtech’s creative use of the Startup Canada support logo to spread the word of our Movement and brand to places you would never expect to see it, like the following “updated” picture of Canada’s Dragon’s, featured on their Facebook page.
  5. WEtech has also been encouraging their clients and staff to share their views on how to Start Up Canada. See below a Speakers Corner Video submitted by their CEO Karen Behune Plunkett.

And this is just a small sample of some of the early adopter activities that WEtech has been engaging to showcase their support for the Startup Canada Movement.

So our collective entrepreneurial hats are off to the Windsor-Essex Technology Alliance and Team. Thanks to your hard work and creative spark, the Startup Canada Movement has enjoyed incredible early adopti

on in the Windsor-Essex region. You have provided a brilliant showcase for our 300 community partners across the country of how to creatively engage your local community in support of the Startup Canada Movement, and we greatly appreciate your early leadership and continuing support.
